Clément Cask Finish Collestion (Whisky Français)

Clement Cask Finish Collection, released under the Whisky Francais banner, is a near-five-year-old aged agricole from Clement, the 300-year Martinique estate now part of GBH and strong in its VSOP and XO tiers. Distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice, this bottling leans into a whisky-style cask finish, an unusual angle for the house.

The nose is fresh and grassy with a distinct smoky note and a whisky-like edge picked up from the finishing wood. The palate turns floral and flowery with that smoke carrying through, the agricole cane character still legible beneath, and the finish brings wood, allspice and orchard fruit. Bottled at a robust 60%, it shows the drier, more structured side of aged agricole rather than anything sweet, the cask finish adding a smoky layer over Clement's grassy backbone. A characterful pour for drinkers who enjoy crossover between rum and whisky, best with a drop of water to open the smoke.
