Description
Clément is a Martinique estate with three centuries of history, working under the island AOC that permits only fresh cane juice and bans any added sugar. This Cask Collection bottling carries four years of age, qualifying it at the VSOP tier, and arrives at cask strength near 62.5%, a serious proof that rewards a few drops of water.
Maturation took place in ex-bourbon oak, with a grappa-cask element flagged on the label. Expect the grassy, peppery, dry agricole core typical of Martinique, framed here by toasted oak and the warmth that tropical ageing draws out faster than cooler climates would. A spirit built for sipping slowly or anchoring a stirred drink, not for sweetness.
