Clément Canne Bleue 2022

Canne Bleue is Clement's celebrated single-variety blanc, drawn from blue cane and released each year as a vintage, here the 2022. It carries the Martinique AOC, distilled from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice with no molasses involved, and bottled unaged at 50%.

The creole column, run low to keep the green congeners in the spirit, gives the hallmark fresh-cane profile: sugarcane sap, lime and grapefruit on the nose, a citrus and vegetal palate with a peppery lift, and a dry, grassy finish. There is a lightly oily texture and a saline edge that reward sipping it slowly, but its natural home is a Ti' Punch, where the cane and green pepper really sing. A clean, characterful white agricole that shows why Canne Bleue draws attention each release, dry and crisp from start to finish.
