Description
This is the 2023 Pink edition from Clase Azul, capped at 1000 decanters and created by the brand's master distiller Viridiana Tinoco. It is a 100% Blue Weber tequila bottled as a joven, meaning different maturation stages are blended together. Because a portion of unaged blanco sits in the mix, it falls outside the four standard age classes, while the blend is built to read close to an añejo profile. The pink decanter, finished with 24 karat gold detailing, was designed around the butterfly metamorphosis as a tribute to breast cancer survivors.
Made at the brand's Los Altos house, the spirit shows cooked agave, roasted oak, hazelnut, vanilla, clove and cinnamon on the nose, then agave honey, orange marmalade, toasted oak and clove across the palate. The finish is long, carrying candied orange peel and warm baking spice, bottled at 40% in the sweeter, rounded house style.
