Description
Chinola Mango Liqueur is made on the Samaná peninsula of the Dominican Republic from 100% fresh mangoes and a hint of passion fruit, with no artificial colours or flavours. A blend of selected varieties, Keitt, Kent and Banilejo, gives it its character, and the producer ties its work to local sustainability and community projects on the peninsula. It sits at 21%, with the fresh fruit kept front and centre.
The nose is floral with tropical fruit and freshly cut mango, and the palate is aromatic and refreshing, fresh mango with vanilla, closing long and semi dry with a creamy cocoa note and lingering mango. Behind the bar it is a tropical fruit and body ingredient: it adds ripe mango to a Margarita, a chismosa or a fruity Sangria, brightens a spritz or a daiquiri riff, and lends a creamy fruit edge to sours. It is also a pleasure on its own over ice. Serve it chilled, and build it long with sparkling wine or soda for a tropical cooler.
