Chichibu Taiwan Edition 2021

The 2021 Taiwan Edition is a no age statement single malt from Chichibu, the Saitama distillery of Venture Whisky, bottled at cask strength 48.5% only for the Taiwanese market. At the lower end of the Taiwan Edition proof range, this expression delivers the distillery's characteristically fruit-forward style in a slightly more approachable register without dilution.

Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks, the whisky reflects the American oak profile that Chichibu has built much of its reputation on: clean vanilla, orchard and tropical fruit, and a gentle grain sweetness that the distillery's small pot stills consistently produce from Saitama's mountain-adjacent conditions. Ichiro Akuto founded Chichibu in 2008 as a craft operation focused on quality over scale, and the Taiwan Edition series, now running annually, has become one of its most consistent market partnerships, delivering a direct representation of the distillery's house character each year to one of its most engaged overseas markets.
