Chichibu Taiwan Edition

The Chichibu Taiwan Edition is a no age statement single malt bottled by the distillery for the Taiwanese market, one of several long-running country-edition series that Venture Whisky releases annually from its Saitama distillery. Founded by Ichiro Akuto in 2008, Chichibu has cultivated a particularly close relationship with Taiwan, one of the most enthusiastic markets for Japanese single malt in Asia.

Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at cask strength 53.5%, this release shows a profile that moves through fresh and dried fruit, honey and malt extract, with a nutty character and a faint smoky note that the distillery typically attributes to its production process rather than peated malt. These flavour notes speak to the breadth of character Chichibu draws from its relatively young stocks, and the higher proof preserves both the aromatic complexity and the texture that makes this series a regular fixture in the Taiwanese whisky market.
