Chichibu Malt Dream Cask for Maltnavi.com 10 Years Old 2008 is a single malt distilled in Chichibu's opening year and bottled in 2019 at 60.4% cask strength, selected from a single Ex-Bourbon cask as a limited event release for the Japanese whisky platform Maltnavi.com. Produced by Venture Whisky at the Chichibu distillery in Saitama, it is one of several event and retailer releases drawn from the 2008 vintage as those barrels reached the decade mark.
A decade in Ex-Bourbon oak develops the orchard fruit, vanilla and caramel notes that are the signature of Chichibu's American-oak-matured single malts, here concentrated by the high cask strength and presented without reduction. The single-cask format ensures the bottle captures the individual character of one barrel across ten years of Saitama ageing, and the event only release format placed it firmly within Japan's specialist community.
