Description
Chichibu Malt Dream Cask 10 Years Old 2008 (bottled 2018) is a single malt drawn from a single Ex-Bourbon cask distilled in Chichibu's opening year and released at 62.8% cask strength for the Japanese market. Produced by Venture Whisky at the Chichibu distillery in Saitama, this is one of several single-cask expressions from the 2008 vintage released in and around 2018 and 2019, each offering an individual barrel's reading of what that first year of spirit became after a decade in wood.
The flavour data points to dried fruit as the primary note, a natural outcome of ten years in a single Ex-Bourbon barrel where the condensed sugars and the cask's drying effect push the profile toward darker, richer fruit territory. At 62.8% cask strength, the barrel's contribution arrives with considerable concentration, making this one of the more intensely structured releases in the 2008 Malt Dream Cask series.
