Description
Chichibu Ken's Choice 2007 Cask 3932 is a single-cask expression drawn from an Ex-Bourbon barrel and bottled in 2021 after 14 years of maturation. Chichibu distillery was founded by Ichiro Akuto in Saitama in 2008, making a 2007 vintage unusual and suggesting the cask may originate from whisky produced at the broader Venture Whisky estate or from early experimental fills made before the distillery formally opened. The Ken's Choice designation marks this as a personal selection within the distillery's programme.
Bottled at 59% cask strength, the 14-year age statement is generous for the Chichibu range and the extended contact with Ex-Bourbon wood shows clearly in the profile. Cooked mash and honey give a rich, sweet depth, while a fragrant, floral character adds delicacy and lift. The combination makes for one of the more mature and polished individual cask expressions from this producer.
