Chichibu Ichiro’s Malt

This NAS bottling under the Ichiro's Malt label was released in 2019 for the Italian market, one of many country-specific cask strength expressions that Chichibu has issued since establishing a strong export presence in Europe. The whisky comes from Chichibu in Saitama, Venture Whisky's craft site under Ichiro Akuto, where small stocks and attentive cask work have made the brand highly collectible.

Matured in Ex-Bourbon wood and bottled at 60.6% without dilution, this is not a single cask release but a small-batch vatting assembled for the market. The maturation base follows the distillery's core programme, and the house character in Ex-Bourbon runs to fresh orchard fruit, vanilla and a clean, grain-sweet vibrancy. No specific flavour notes are on record, but the profile is typical of young Chichibu in bourbon wood.
