Chichibu distillery, founded in 2008 in Saitama by Ichiro Akuto under the Venture Whisky banner, has become one of Japan's most sought-after small producers. Bottled in 2023 as a single cask, cask strength expression for the Australian market under the Ichiro's Malt label, this NAS release draws on the distillery's characteristically vibrant, fruit-forward new make.
Matured in a single Ex-Bourbon cask, the wood brings familiar vanilla and light caramel structure to the spirit. Without age or flavour data on record, the profile follows the distillery's typical character: fresh orchard fruit, sweet cereal, and a lively spirit energy that remains unapologetically young. At 65% and undiluted, it arrives at full cask strength.
