Description
The 7EVEN Gods of Fortune series is Chichibu's event-released single cask line named for the seven deities of good fortune in Japanese folklore. Edition 7, representing Jurojin, draws on a 2016 vintage Ex-Bourbon cask bottled in 2025 at 63.3% cask strength. Chichibu distillery was founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto in Saitama prefecture and is operated by Venture Whisky, making it the craft standard-bearer of Japan's whisky revival.
At eight years old in an Ex-Bourbon barrel, the spirit has had time to draw vanilla, soft caramel and warm oak spice from the American wood while retaining the distillery's typically vibrant fruit-forward new make. No flavour note appears in the data beyond the cask type, so the profile reflects Chichibu's house character in Ex-Bourbon: clean, lively and sweet with a building depth. Bottled undiluted at 63.3% for an event release, it arrives with the intensity collectors expect from this series.
