Cask number 8282 is a 2017 vintage Chichibu single malt drawn from an Ex-Bourbon barrel and bottled in 2025 at 65.4% by La Maison du Whisky for the French market. Chichibu distillery in Saitama prefecture is Venture Whisky's craft flagship, founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, and this release is among the most recent 2017 vintage additions to the longstanding LMDW collaboration.
Seven years in an Ex-Bourbon barrel have drawn vanilla, caramel and warm wood spice from the American oak, framing the distillery's typically bright and fruit-forward new make character beneath. The flavour data for this cask is blank, placing it within the distillery's standard Ex-Bourbon register: clean, orchard-fruited and sweetly spiced. At 65.4% this is the joint-highest strength in the 2017 LMDW batch, arriving with considerable palate intensity and a long warming finish that rewards patience and a careful approach to dilution.
