Ten years in an Oloroso sherry cask gave this 2014-vintage Chichibu its dark-fruit richness, with dried fruit, chocolate and citrus honey layered over a husky, sherried core, bottled for La Maison du Whisky at 62.3% cask strength from the Saitama distillery.

Description
Chichibu distillery in Saitama, one of Japan's most collected small-batch producers, holds a portion of its production in sherry wood for extended periods, and cask 10416 from the 2014 vintage represents one of the more mature examples of this approach. La Maison du Whisky selected it for the French market in 2025, by which point the Oloroso barrel had shaped the spirit for a full decade.
The profile carries the weight of that decade in sherry wood: dried fruit, chocolate and a honey-and-citrus brightness from Chichibu's fruit-forward new make weave through a husky, sherried base. The ten-year maturation rounds the edges of the high-strength bottling at 62.3% cask strength, integrating the cask's influence with the distillery's characteristic sweetness and precision. The finish is long, rich and dark, with cocoa and plum lingering well after the last sip.
