Cask #1763 from Chichibu's 2012 vintage was selected by The Whisky Exchange and released in 2022 as a ten-year-old single cask, making it among the more mature expressions from the Saitama distillery. Chichibu was founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto under Venture Whisky, and a decade of maturation is notable for a house that built its name on vibrant young releases.
Ten years in Ex-Bourbon oak deepens the vanilla and stone-fruit character typical of the distillery, adding a layer of warm wood spice and integration that younger releases lack. Bottled at cask strength of 58.5%, the spirit is round and full, with the fresh fruit energy of Chichibu's new make now cushioned by a decade of barrel work. This single-cask event bottling offers a longer view of the 2012 vintage.
