Château Minuty makes this Côtes de Provence rosé from a Grenache led blend across its Gassin, Vidauban and Ramatuelle vineyards. Pale and dry, it is built for finesse, with strawberry, peach and a fresh, saline lift in the classic Provence mould.
Description
Château Minuty is one of Provence's best known estates, based at Gassin in the south of the region. Rose & Or, first made in 2009, blends fruit from the three vineyard sites of Gassin, Vidauban and Ramatuelle, chosen for their freshness and finesse. The grapes grow on Provence's stony, limestone influenced soils under a warm maritime climate, where sea breezes and cool nights preserve the acidity and keep the colour pale. The fruit is pressed gently with minimal skin contact, the method behind the pale, delicate Provence style, and a cool fermentation in stainless steel preserves the primary aromatics and the crisp line of acidity. The wine pours a very pale pink and shows strawberry and white peach over white flowers, with a citrus and saline lift. The palate is dry, light and precise, with red berry and pear fruit, a clean mineral freshness and a long, saline finish that reflects the coastal terroir. Serve it well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It is an elegant aperitif rosé that also suits light, fresh cooking.
