Description
Château Lafitte is a family estate at Monein in the Jurançon area of south-west France, farmed biodynamically by Antoine Arraou. This is the dry style, Jurançon Sec, made from Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng, the region's two signature white grapes. Grown in the Pyrenean foothills, both hold high natural acidity and develop a distinctive citrus and exotic-fruit character, with Petit Manseng the smaller-berried and more concentrated of the pair. The wine is aged in barrel, which softens the naturally brisk acidity and adds a rounder texture and light savoury depth without dominating the fruit. Biodynamic farming keeps synthetic treatments out of the vineyard in favour of soil and vine health. The colour is pale gold. The nose shows white peach, apricot and citrus peel with a floral lift and a hint of melon. The palate is dry and fresh, the Manseng acidity balanced by the fuller texture from wood, closing long with a citrus edge. Serve chilled at 10 to 12 degrees.

Additional information
Serve it with grilled white fish, roast chicken or prawns. The fresh acidity and rounder texture also work with pork and lightly spiced dishes, where the exotic-fruit character adds lift.
