Description
Château de Fieuzal lies in the AOC Pessac-Léognan, the historic home of Bordeaux's finest dry whites. The estate is built on 80 hectares of deep gravel, a soil that drains freely and regulates the vine's water supply with precision, forcing roots down and giving the fruit a firm mineral backbone. The blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon is a Bordeaux classic: Sauvignon brings citrus, acidity and aromatic lift, while Semillon adds weight, wax and the capacity to age. Barrel fermentation and ageing on the fine lees is central to the style. The lees are stirred so autolysis releases mannoproteins that build a creamy texture, and the oak contributes toast and spice along with slow oxygen exchange that stabilises the wine. It is bright gold in the glass. The nose carries lemon, white peach and pear over vanilla and toasted bread, with a beeswax note from the Semillon. The palate is rich yet fresh, with a long saline finish. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a large white glass.

Additional information
A fine match for grilled lobster, scallops and roast chicken with cream sauces. The barrel weight and Semillon texture also carry richer fish such as turbot, and it works with mature hard cheeses.
