A thirty year old single cask Cuban distilled in 1993 and bottled by Chapter 7, column distilled and ex-bourbon aged at a natural 49.7%, a rare and deeply matured take on the light Cuban style.
Description
Chapter 7 Cuban Rum 1993 is a thirty year old single cask Cuban rum distilled in 1993 and bottled by Chapter 7. Cuban rum of this age is uncommon, and as a single cask at natural strength it represents a more serious, collector-minded side of the island's normally light style.
Column distilled from molasses and aged in ex-bourbon, and bottled at a cask strength 49.7%, it should keep the clean Cuban character while three decades in oak build deep vanilla, caramel, tobacco and dried-fruit complexity. With added sugar unrecorded but the single cask, full-proof framing, it reads as a dry, contemplative and unusually mature Cuban sipper.
