Chairman’s Reserve White Label

Chairman's Reserve is the flagship range of Saint Lucia Distillers, and this White Label is its unaged white, a molasses rum drawing on both pot and column stills and bottled at 40%. Saint Lucia Distillers is respected for blending across its range of stills, and that approach gives this white more depth than the category usually offers.

The pot still component is key here: where many whites can taste thin, this one carries genuine flavour, the nose fresh and fruity with citrus, sugarcane and a light polish, and the palate oily with faint smoke, citrus and cane. The finish stays fresh and oily with citrus and a touch of spice. The result is a characterful, well rounded white that works neat as well as in a cocktail. At 40% it drinks cleanly and offers real value, one of the more flavourful and dependable white rums in its bracket, lifted by that pot still backbone.
