Celtic Irish Whiskey is an event bottling drawn from the Cooley distillery in Co. Louth, released under the Spiorad an Phartais name. It is a no age statement blend of Cooley malt and grain, one of the many special releases drawn from the stocks of the distillery John Teeling founded in 1987 to break the mould of Irish whiskey.

Maturation follows the classic route, ex-bourbon casks over an undisclosed period, and the character sits in the approachable Cooley blend register, typically soft honey, fresh fruit and vanilla over gentle grain sweetness. Bottled at 40%, it was made for an occasion rather than the open shelf, which leaves surviving bottles an uncommon sight.
