CDI West Indies – Old Blended Rum

CDI West Indies Old Blended Rum is an eight year old blend from Compagnie des Indes, the terroir-led French bottler, made unsweetened and bottled at a gentle 40%. It is positioned as a bridge bottling, an easy, well-made blend for drinkers moving from sweeter Spanish-style rons toward drier English-Caribbean profiles, offering roundness without relying on added sugar.

The pot and column still blend, matured in ex-bourbon oak, gives vanilla, caramelised sugar, coconut and light oak over tropical fruit, with a woody, chocolatey finish and a balanced, slightly herbaceous core. The cask influence is restrained, which keeps it soft and occasionally a touch light, but the result is clean and approachable. Unsweetened yet still smooth, it carries both a Latin roundness and an English-Caribbean dryness in one glass.
