Description
This Travellers 2012 is a Compagnie des Indes single cask, the French house's terroir minded take on a ten year Belize rum bottled at a powerful 62.5% from ex bourbon wood. Column distilled from molasses and certified unsweetened, it delivers a clean, focused profile in CDI's natural, additive free single cask style.
The nose is straightforward and appealing, vanilla and a sweet caramelised note. The palate brings spice and fruit, with brown sugar, caramel and yellow fruits over a medium, slightly dry finish. The high strength is well integrated, letting the clean vanilla and caramel character come through without added sugar to soften it. It is a tasty, dry Belize rum in the Foursquare adjacent mould for drinkers who want that polished sweetness from cask and spirit alone, well suited to slow sipping with a few drops of water.
