CDI Manabi 2015

Manabi 2015 is an Ecuadorian single cask selected by Compagnie des Indes, the respected French bottler whose terroir led approach shines in lesser known origins like this. Drawn from the Manabi distillery and bottled at eight years of age from a single ex-bourbon cask, it offers a fresh, green fruited take on South American rum.

Matured in cooler European conditions and bottled naturally at 45%, it leads with honey and sweet tobacco on the nose, joined by herbal and green apple notes. The palate adds lemon peel, black pepper and a nougat sweetness, while the finish brings green pepper, baked apple and a touch of young wood. Tasters liken its bright, green fruit character to a younger Guyanese style with a fresh twist, and several rate it among the more expressive Ecuadorian rums they have met. Lively and food friendly, it rewards unhurried neat sipping.
