Description
CDI Jamaica (Bottled for Denmark) 2012 is a single-cask Jamaican from Compagnie des Indes, the respected, terroir-led French bottler known for natural casks across a broad range of origins. Drawn from multiple Jamaican distilleries and bottled at full cask strength, it sits in the lower-to-mid ester band, a solid, recognisably Jamaican blend rather than a varnish-heavy extreme.
Distilled from molasses on pot stills and matured eight years in ex-bourbon oak, it shows pineapple, citrus and tropical fruit over a woody, faintly vegetal base, with the esters present but restrained. The high strength keeps it intense and concentrated, and a touch of integration time helps it settle. Bottled unsweetened at 64.9%, this is a well-assembled, characterful Jamaican for the cask-strength drinker, with the typical island notes clearly legible.
