Cave Guildive Foursquare Rum 2005

Cave Guildive selected this single cask of Foursquare distillate from the 2005 vintage, a Barbados rum from the Richard Seale distillery aged 15 years and bottled unsweetened at a full 60%. Foursquare works a double-retort pot still alongside a twin-column Coffey still, blending traditionally with a strict no-additives stance.

Matured in ex-bourbon oak, it takes the classic coconut, toffee and vanilla profile and adds an unusual floral, berry and herbal twist, with milk chocolate, citrus and a hint of red pepper and ginger lifting the palate. Despite the strength it stays rounded, spicy and sipping-friendly, the alcohol well integrated and the finish carrying oak, smoke and coffee. This is Foursquare in a drier, hotter and more aromatic guise than the standard range, a rewarding next step for drinkers who enjoy the distillery and want something a little more individual and floral.
