Description
Cascahuin is the Rosales family distillery in El Arenal, in the Valles lowlands of Jalisco, making tequila in the same family since 1904 and now run by Salvador Chava Rosales. This is the Tahona version of its 100% Blue Weber agave blanco, where the cooked agave is milled on a volcanic stone tahona rather than the steel mill used for the Plata 48 bottling, a choice that pulls more fibre and body into the spirit. The house works in the artesanal tradition and is additive-free.
Batches stay under 2,500 litres, so each is adjusted to taste. The tahona crush and lowland agave give a clear, agave-rich spirit: cooked agave on the nose with a mineral edge and lactic notes, then agave, spice and a fruity lift on the palate. Bottled at 42%, a step up from the lighter standard line.
