Description
Cascahuín Plata 48 is a 100% agave Blanco from Tequila Cascahuín, NOM 1123, in El Arenal in the Valles lowlands of Jalisco. The Rosales family has distilled here since 1904 across four generations, following artesanal methods, and this is the house high proof statement, built from brick oven roasted agave and slowly extracted juice.
Bottled undiluted at 48% and unfiltered straight after distillation, it keeps the full weight of the cooked agave and gains a thick, viscous mouthfeel. The nose opens on cooked agave, pepper and fresh herbs, then cardamom, walnut, coffee, honey and butter, all over a dry, mineral valley character. The palate is refreshing with mint and herbs, balancing bitterness against natural sweetness, and the finish turns to honey and ripe fruit. A bold, traditional lowland Blanco.
