Casamigos, the brand from George Clooney and Rande Gerber that began with tequila, extends its house of friends into mezcal with this Oaxacan bottling. It is made from 100% Espadín, Agave angustifolia, and stays effectively unaged, resting up to two months in stainless steel tanks rather than wood, which keeps it within the joven class and leaves the agave undisturbed by oak.

This is a polished, accessible style of mezcal aimed at balance over intensity. The pit roasting that defines the category leaves only soft smoke here, sitting under a fruit-led profile of tamarind, pomegranate, banana and mango. The palate follows that lead, smooth and even, with gentle smoke carrying through to a long, silky finish. At 40% it reads as an approachable introduction to Espadín mezcal rather than a high-proof showcase.
