Description
Casa de Hamsa Anejo is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila from the Casa Tequilera Alma de Mexico distillery in the highlands of Jalisco, the founding group's protective Hamsa hand marking the bottle. The producer states the tequila is made without additives such as glycerin, sugar or colouring, so its colour and depth come from time in wood rather than abocantes.
The anejo spends at least fourteen months in oak, giving a darker amber and a fuller body as the wood notes knit into the agave sweetness. The nose is rich and layered with dried fruit, dark chocolate and toasted oak. The palate is full, unfolding butter toffee, walnut and warm baking spice into a long finish, bottled at 38%.
