Description
Carrere Montebello RAID Brut de Fut 2016 comes from Montebello, a traditional family agricole distillery on Basse-Terre in Guadeloupe run by the Marsolle family. Made from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice, it carries a 2016 harvest aged six years in ex-bourbon casks.
Bottled at full cask strength of 53.2%, this is an unfiltered, undiluted agricole. Expect the grassy, vegetal cane core of the style amplified by the strength, framed by oak spice and vanilla from the barrel, dry rather than sweet. A few drops of water will open it up. A characterful Guadeloupe rum for drinkers who like their agricole at full power.
