Can Rich makes this Ibizan rosé from Monastrell, fermented and aged six months in clay amphorae. Organic and grown on the island’s warm soils, the 2024 is fresh and light, with strawberry, raspberry and a citrus lift over a dry, clean palate.
Description
Can Rich is one of Ibiza's established organic estates, and under technical director Alvaro Perez Navazo it has sharpened its focus on the island's Mediterranean identity. This rosé is made from Monastrell, a thick-skinned, late-ripening grape well suited to the heat and sea winds of the Balearic Islands, grown on warm soils that ripen the fruit fully while the maritime breezes preserve freshness. After a gentle press, the wine ferments and ages for six months in clay amphorae, porous vessels that allow slow oxygen exchange and lees contact, adding texture and roundness without the flavour of oak. The colour is bright pale pink. The nose shows strawberry and raspberry lifted by a citrus note, and the palate is dry, fresh and light, with clean acidity and a savoury, faintly saline finish from the coastal site. At 12.5% it stays balanced and refreshing. Serve at 8 to 10 degrees in a white wine glass. It pairs with grilled fish, paella, summer salads and fresh cheeses.
