This is a Cameronbridge single grain, chosen and bottled by Cadenhead's, a 28 year old single grain distilled in 1989 and bottled at 59%. 228 bottles in all. Cameronbridge, in the Kingdom of Fife, is Diageo's largest distillery and the home of Scotch grain whisky. It is one of the largest distilleries in Europe, making well over a hundred million litres a year.

Distilled in column stills for a clean, sweet grain, building the light Cameronbridge grain style. Ex-Bourbon casks held the grain, soft oak that drives the sweetness. By this age the sweet spirit rounds into vanilla, coconut and a soft oil. The slow loss of the angel's share concentrates the sweet, oily core over the years. A founding member of the Distillers Company in 1877, it is now Diageo's largest distillery. Since Port Dundas closed in 2010, it is Diageo's only wholly owned grain distillery. As well as whisky, it makes the neutral spirit for Gordon's and Tanqueray gin and Smirnoff vodka.

At a hearty 59% it carries real weight. The ex-Bourbon gives coconut, vanilla and toffee. A butterscotch and a creamy oak lift it. The close is soft, dessert sweet over oak. This is an aged single grain from Diageo's largest distillery.
