Bottled by Signatory Vintage, this Cambus matured to 30 year old distilled in 1991, from cask 34108 and bottled at 57.8%. Only 454 bottles were released. A lost Lowland grain distillery near Alloa, Cambus distilled from around 1806 until 1993. Closed in 1993, the site is now a Diageo cooperage beside the Blackgrange warehouses.

It was worked through continuous column stills from grain, for the light, sweet grain spirit Cambus was known for. Ex-Sherry wood added a dried fruit richness to the sweet grain. Long ageing brings a deep coconut, toffee and a mellow, polished oak. The clean grain base lets the cask speak clearly across long years. Single grain Cambus is rare, mostly from independent bottlers and the odd Diageo Special Release. Alfred Barnard visited in 1885, noting six huge warehouses holding seventeen thousand casks. A fire destroyed the distillery in 1914; it was rebuilt and resumed in the late 1930s.

At its natural 57.8% it is concentrated. The Oloroso brings dried fruit and a nutty depth over the sweet grain. Beneath it run coconut, vanilla and a soft oil. The close is soft, dessert sweet over oak. This is an old single grain from a closed Lowland distillery.
