Single grain Cambus, an independent Creative Whisky Company bottling, aged 27 year old distilled in 1988, from cask 59545 and bottled at 47.6%. A release of 285 bottles. A lost Lowland grain distillery near Alloa, Cambus distilled from around 1806 until 1993. It was one of the five grain distilleries that founded the Distillers Company Limited in 1877.

It was worked through continuous column stills from grain, for the light, sweet grain spirit Cambus was known for. It was matured in refill ex-Bourbon oak, lending coconut and vanilla. Long ageing brings a deep coconut, toffee and a mellow, polished oak. Decades in cask build a waxy, polished depth over the clean grain spirit. It was one of the five grain distilleries that founded the Distillers Company Limited in 1877. In 1906 its grain was advertised as not a headache in a gallon, helping win the What is Whisky case. Closed in 1993, the site is now a Diageo cooperage beside the Blackgrange warehouses.

Undiluted at 47.6%, it is layered. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, cream and a dessert sweetness. Beneath it run coconut, vanilla and a soft oil. It finishes clean, sweet and buttery. This is a single grain from the lost Cambus distillery.
