Cacique Anejo Superior is a Venezuelan ron from Destilerias Unidas, a widely available everyday bottling with no age statement. Column distilled from molasses and bottled at a soft 37.5%, it sits at the value end of the country's smooth, dessert leaning tradition and is built for easy, casual use.

The profile is sweet and gentle: brown sugar, sugar, a syrupy note and barrel on the nose, then caramelised, sweet, vanilla and chocolate on the palate, closing on dried dates, dried figs and young wood with a cardboard edge. The sweetness and light body are obvious, with classic Latin American caramel and vanilla notes and little wood depth, and drinkers tend to find it neutral and a touch bland taken neat.
