Description
Ca N'Estruc is a family winery in Catalonia with roots reaching back to 1547, making it one of the oldest in the region. Xarel·lo, the local white grape, has grown in its vineyards throughout that history. This bottling is made in a fresh, direct style with no oak, farmed organically and biodynamically to let the fruit and the site speak. Xarel·lo is prized for its natural acidity and its savoury, faintly herbal character, qualities that come through clearly when the wine is kept in stainless steel and released young. The Mediterranean climate of the D.O. Catalunya is warm, but the grape holds its acidity well and the early harvest preserves freshness and lift. Without any barrel influence, the wine shows its varietal character undiluted. The 2025 is pale with a green tint. The nose is bright and savoury, showing green apple, lemon and pear with a note of dried herbs and white flowers. The palate is dry and crisp, its acidity clean and its finish saline and snappy. This is an easy, versatile white for the table. Serve well chilled at 9 to 11 degrees in a white wine glass.
