Description
Ca' Lojera Lugana is a varietal Trebbiano di Lugana, the local Turbiana grape, made by the Tiraboschi family on the southern shore of Lake Garda in Lombardy. The name means House of Wolves in dialect. The vineyards sit on the heavy morainic clay of the Lugana plain, a compact, mineral rich soil that retains water and lends the wines their weight, saline depth and slow ageing ability. The moderating effect of the lake evens out the growing season and keeps the fruit fresh. Farming is by respectful, sustainable method. The wine is fermented and aged in stainless steel to protect its aromatics and hold the bright, precise fruit that the grape and soil give. The colour is pale straw. The nose is delicate and clean, showing green apple and white fruit with a citrus edge, and the palate is fresh and mineral with a saline, gently almond toned finish that reflects the clay. Serve it chilled, around 10 degrees.
