Bunnahabhain 11 Years Old 2013 (Decadent Drinks)

Decadent Drinks' Small Batch series sits below the Old Islay and Sponge single-cask releases, vatting two or three carefully chosen sherry casks into a slightly larger outturn while keeping the same selection philosophy: refill where it suits the spirit, fresh sherry where it doesn't, and natural strength always. This 11 year old Bunnahabhain was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2025 at 58.3% natural strength. Maturation is in Oloroso sherry casks. At eleven years, Bunnahabhain distillate has settled into the recognisable mid-age character, the rough new-make edges have rounded off but the spirit hasn't yet been deeply absorbed into the cask's wood signature. That window is where the distillery character and cask character sit in genuine balance rather than one taking over. Decadent Drinks' approach to Small Batch specifically targets this kind of balance point. Expect the unpeated Bunnahabhain coastal profile, oiliness, light brine, soft cereal sweetness, sitting alongside the Oloroso cask's nuttier dried-fruit register: walnut, fig, sultana, light leather. The relatively young age means the fresh sherry markers come through with more clarity than they do in long-matured equivalents, and the natural strength keeps the texture full. Bottled non-chill-filtered at natural colour, in line with Decadent Drinks' standard presentation.
