Brugal Papá Andrés (Collection 2015)

Papa Andres is Brugal's flagship blend, named for the founder and assembled from the house's older reserves in this 2015 Collection edition. It comes from one of the Dominican Republic's three founding ron houses, a producer whose rums consistently test on the dry side, so the richness here reads as oak and fruit concentration rather than added sweetness.

Made from molasses on a column still and aged in the warmth of the Caribbean, it draws deep colour and a wood-forward profile. The aroma opens on oak with bright pineapple and cherry, while the palate builds those orchard and stone fruits into a darker, figgy weight with the oak holding the centre. The finish settles back into dry wood. At 40% it is a smooth, composed after-dinner pour that leans on barrel and fruit rather than dosage for its substance.
