Description
Bristol Classic Rum is a long-running English bottler with a reputation for liquid history and closed-distillery releases. This 2010 Mauritian rum from the Labourdonnais estate is built on a molasses base, aged eleven years in ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 47%.
Though Bristol leans largely purist, this bottling is recorded as sweetened, so it reads richer and rounder than a bone-dry aged rum. Expect vanilla, dried fruit and toasted oak from the long bourbon-cask maturation, softened by that touch of sugar. A mature, easygoing island rum for those who like aged molasses character with a gentle sweet edge.
