Bounty Premium Dark

Bounty Premium Dark is made by Saint Lucia Distillers, the island's single producer, working from molasses across both column and pot stills. This expression brings together younger column rum with older pot still spirit, all matured in former bourbon barrels and carrying a six year age statement at a comfortable 43%.

The nose is loaded with molasses and raisin, a mineral note sitting underneath and cinnamon emerging with time, along with the charred sweetness the bourbon wood lends. The palate adds tobacco and a flash of tropical fruit over brown sugar, and the finish stays cinnamon-led, smooth and rounded with returning molasses and caramel. The pot still component gives it a touch more grip than a purely light island rum, while the bourbon-barrel maturation keeps it warm and approachable, a solid everyday Saint Lucian dark that drinks well neat and rewards a slow glass.
