Description
Bottega is a family distillery in the Veneto, working grappa since Aldo Bottega introduced the first single varietal grappa and founded the distillery in 1977, now set in a restored 17th century farmhouse among its own vineyards. This Crema di Caramello draws on its grappa alongside cream and a dulce de leche style caramel, blended into a smooth emulsion at 17%.
The nose is intense with cooked milk and toffee, the palate soft, sweet, intense and strong, the finish long on the palate. Behind the bar it adds rich caramel and toffee flavour, dairy body and sweetness, a dessert ingredient that brings a cooked sugar depth to a drink. It stirs into caramel and salted caramel martinis, enriches a coffee cocktail, and pairs with panna cotta, biscuits or ice cream. As a dairy liqueur, serve it chilled and keep it cool, using it within a few months of opening.
