Description
Bosque de Matasnos lies in the highlands of the Ribera del Duero, on an estate set within a working forest that gives the wines their name. The vineyards sit at altitude, and the wide swing between hot days and cold nights, the region's marked diurnal range, lets the grapes ripen fully while keeping fresh acidity and aromatic lift. This white leads with the native Albillo Real and adds Chardonnay, Verdejo and Viognier for extra stonefruit and floral character. It is aged on its fine lees, which through slow autolysis release mannoproteins that build a rounded, textured palate and a subtle buttery note while adding depth. The colour is bright yellow with a green cast. The nose is generous, with pear, melon and white peach over white blossom, honey and a light note of almond. The palate is ripe and rounded, at 14 percent it carries real body, yet the altitude keeps it fresh with a clean, mineral finish. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees.

Additional information
The ripe stonefruit and rounded texture suit roast chicken and pork, and richer white fish such as hake or monkfish. Its freshness also carries grilled vegetables and a rice salad. Serve with a herb-roasted chicken.
