Böser Kater Handcrafted Fruity Mango Gin

Böser Kater comes from the Schleihauf family's German fruit distillery, where Adrian Schleihauf, third generation, makes everything by hand and channels part of each sale into cat welfare, a brand named for his cat Rüdiger. The Fruity Mango expression does exactly what it promises, setting bright, exotic mango against the characteristic spice of juniper so the two pull in different directions and balance one another. Like the rest of the range it is vegan and made only with natural ingredients.

The nose is exotic and ripe, all mango. The palate carries that fruit forward, lush and tropical, with juniper's pine and pepper keeping it dry rather than sweet, into a long finish. Pour over ice with a light or Mediterranean tonic and a wedge of lime to sharpen the mango and let the juniper show through.
