Böser Kater Black Light Neon Limette comes from the Schleihauf fruit distillery, run by the third generation of the family. It is billed as the first vodka with a black-light neon effect, all from natural ingredients, in a glowing neon-green pour. Behind the gimmick sits a balanced lime-flavoured vodka, and part of every sale goes to cat protection.

Description
Böser Kater comes from the Schleihauf fine fruit distillery in Germany, founded in 1982 and now run by Adrian Schleihauf, who named the brand after his cat and gives part of the proceeds to cat protection. This vodka is presented as the world's first with a black-light neon effect, a glow achieved with natural ingredients rather than dye, pouring a striking neon green. Past the showmanship, the distillery's fruit background shows in how cleanly the fresh lime flavouring is balanced into the spirit, bottled vegan at 40%.
The nose is fresh and fruity with bright citrus, the palate fresh and clearly lime-led, and the finish lingers on the palate. A vodka built around sharp, clean lime calls for a Gimlet: shake it hard with fresh lime juice and a measure of sugar syrup, then strain it cold into a chilled glass, where the drink's own lime flavour reinforces the fresh juice and the 40% strength gives it the backbone to stay crisp rather than sweet.
