An elegant, fruit forward Guadeloupe agricole built around banana, mango and berries, wrapped in honey, cinnamon and polished oak, oily and cohesive at a gentle 43% with a fresh, fruity, lightly sweet finish.
Description
Bonne Mere is a Guadeloupe agricole label, and this DBM Cuvee d'Exeption sits at the top of the range, a fruit forward cane juice rum pressed from fresh sugar cane juice and bottled at an approachable 43%. Guadeloupe falls under IGP rather than the Martinique AOC, and this release leans on polished, old school island character rather than high proof intensity.
The profile is elegant and ripe: banana, mango and berries lead, wrapped in honey, cinnamon and soft, well integrated oak. The palate is oily and cohesive with woody depth and a berry edge, and the finish turns fresh and fruity with a light sweetness over the wood. The ABV is pitched for balance, letting the fruit and spice show without aggression. This is one to pour neat when complexity matters more than power, a refined take on the fruity Guadeloupe agricole tradition.
