Bols Red Orange Liqueur

Bols Red Orange is a fruit liqueur from Bols, the Amsterdam house distilling and blending since 1575, here combining the flavour of curacao orange with a measured blend of passion fruit and peach. The fruit is carried on a neutral distilled spirit and sweetened into a bright red liqueur at 17%, made in the traditional macerated style.

The nose is fresh citrus and intense orange peel with exotic passion fruit and peach, the palate fruity and sweet and sour with full blood orange, tropical accents and a gentle bitter edge, the finish refreshing and slightly tart. Behind the bar it adds tangy red citrus, a touch of sweetness and a striking colour, useful where a drink wants orange with a fruitier, redder twist. It is the main note in a Red Orange Spritz with Prosecco and soda, brightens a fruity margarita variation, and lengthens into citrus long drinks. Pour it long over ice with sparkling wine.
