Malty grain warmth underpins fresh juniper, spicy herbs and a soft citrus sweetness. This is genever, gin’s Amsterdam ancestor, made at the centuries-old Lucas Bols house on a smooth malt-wine base. Rich, rounded and proudly old-fashioned.

Description
Long before London Dry, there was genever, the malt-based Dutch spirit from which gin descends. Bols Genever is made by Lucas Bols in Amsterdam, a distilling house with roots stretching back centuries, and it keeps faith with that tradition: a smooth, malty grain base carrying juniper, coriander, angelica root, citrus peel and a quiet handful of spices. The result is fuller and softer than a modern gin, a drink with one foot in history.
The nose blends fresh juniper with spicy herbs and a gentle malty sweetness. The palate is full and balanced, clear juniper married to citrus, herbs and a light sweetness, before a long, smooth finish of warm malt and subtle spice. Sip it neat with a drop of water, or pour it into a traditional Genever Sour for a richer, rounder take on the classic.
